The effective management of art, architecture, and creativity: ACAM!

Introduce yourselves; who are you and what is your professional background?
Both Pietro Ilardi and I are self-employed professionals, and I would say that we share a common trait: a tendency to be restless and unable to stay idle. I am an architect, and for several years now, I have dedicated myself with increasing passion to the restoration and consolidation of historic buildings, as well as to the broader themes of recovery, conservation, and the enhancing of cultural heritage.
Pietro Ilardi, on the other hand, is a lawyer and has been the owner of the Ilardi Law Firm since 2010. He started this independent activity after gaining a decade of experience at one of the leading law firms in the capital. His firm operates primarily in civil, commercial, and intellectual property law, sectors in which he is active both nationally and internationally.
How did the idea of creating this company come about? How was this spark born, and how did you decide to put it into practice?
The founding of ACAM took place about a year after the trademark was registered and over a year and a half after the initial idea was conceived. The original concept involved creating a global archive where, from every corner of the planet, one could anonymously record all transactions of contemporary artwork. This initial idea, which later served as the trigger for the project's development, was a gift from artist and photographer Irene Kung during a trip to China for a photo shoot in 2011. Irene’s main goal was to provide buyers of contemporary art with a tool to guarantee the authenticity and uniqueness of their piece. Not wanting to undertake this activity personally, she decided to gift me the idea.
Today, ACAM presents itself as a broad thematic container, within which we hope this seed - whose origin everything began with - can soon grow and flourish alongside everything else.
ACAM aims to promote the values of Recovery, Conservation, and Enhancement of the heritage of artworks, architecture, and creativity in general. It intends to be a point of reference especially for all those entrusted with safeguarding this heritage.
