We put our name to the design, we see the consents through, we oversee the works — all the way to the last layer.
We know our buildings inside out, and we protect their coherence: from the foundations to the furniture. Interiors are not an addition to the restoration work: finishes, furniture, the quality of the light and the space are the measure of the result, for the people who live there every day.
Restoration and site
Architectural and conservation design at every stage, from feasibility through to technical design for construction.
Measured surveys, specialist investigation, condition assessment, diagnostics.
Consents and permits: heritage consent from the Soprintendenza (the State heritage authority), planning permission and building permits, landscape authorisation.
Site supervision, safety coordination, measurement and valuation of the works, final testing and certification.
Restoration of decorated surfaces — frescoes, stuccowork, mosaics, fitted decorative schemes — treated as integral parts of the building.
Adaptive reuse: seismic improvement and upgrading to code; building services, energy performance and accessibility brought up to standard in protected settings.
Interior design and furnishing
Interior design: layout, finishes, light, materials.
Art direction of the finishes: construction and decorative detailing, samples, the critical junctions, and assistance in choosing and buying what goes in.
Furnishing and delivery: selection, bespoke pieces, direct access to the Italian design supply chain, through to installation.
Buyer-personalisation programmes for developers abroad, where taste and attention to detail are what we export.
Once the works are done the building returns to its ordinary life, and the care that makes that life last is Heritage Programme Management. When a unique piece, a design classic or a work by a named maker enters the scheme, it passes to Art Advisory & Valuation.
Grants, tax relief, a funding call or a procurement procedure: that is the work of Funding & Tenders.
